Linux brings a lot of mini distributions along with it. These distros boot from CD ROMs, Floppy Disks or are as small as 50 MB in size. Seems exciting? Here they are!

This is a source distribution that allows you to create a bootable floppy Linux X window system.

A very efficient Linux/xwindows distribution, implementing a net centric operating environment and user friendly GUI:

4MLinux is a mini Linux distribution focusing on the following four "M":
- Maintenance (system rescue Live CD),
- Multimedia (e.g. playing video DVDs),
- Miniserver (using the inetd daemon),
- Mystery (meaning a collection of Linux games).
7. alcolix
Alcolix is a minimal linux distribution built on a custom linux 2.4-kernel and sporting a hybrid of the most minimalistic yet usable versions of common unix-environment commandline tools. The goal is to make it easily usable for people able to use linux yet have it boot off only a minimal number of floppies.
8. Antlinux
A barebones distribution of Linux, which is meant to be used in embedded systems or systems that will be run from CD-ROM or floppy. The theme of AntLinux is "Small software that does big things".
9. ariane
This distro was originally based on LinuxFromScratch. It is a distro that runs from a bootable CD-ROM.
10. BasicLinux
This is a distro that has been designed for old computers and uses small kernels and busybox for low-RAM Linux.
